History

North Kitsap Schools Foundation received non-profit 501(c)3 status in 2002, awarded its first classroom grants in 2004 and has been enriching instruction and engaging students ever since! NKSF brings the community together, allowing individuals, families, local businesses and service clubs to combine resources, supporting outstanding education for local students.  Led by an all- volunteer board of directors, NKSF is operating in its 20th year.

Thanks to our partners, NKSF has awarded $590,000 for teacher- and district- driven programs that inspire students, spark innovation and provide learning opportunities that go beyond the basics. Recent grants have funded projects like motion sensors for the Physics lab, novels for a Manga club, field trips to the state capitol, and flexible seating option to improve attention and concentration.  From books to technical equipment, science lab supplies to professional development, NKSF funds materials and programs that North Kitsap students need, but that the school district can’t afford. Learn more about the grants awarded in the 2021-2022 school year.

The North Kitsap Schools Foundation seeks ongoing partnerships to bridge the gap between state funding and local needs to support academic and personal achievement for all NK students. Our motto is Strong Schools=Strong Communities.
