More Than 50 Years Serving The North Kitsap Community

As our newest Honor Roll business partner, NKSF is excited to announce Vern’s Organic Topsoil as a Visionary partner in our grants program. With more than 50 years commitment to the North Kitsap community, they show their support in so many ways.

Vern’s Organic Topsoil actually started out as a dairy farm in the early 1960’s. With cow manure to spare, Vernon Martinson, himself an NKHS graduate, sold all his cows in 1978 and pivoted his business to producing rich, organic topsoil for his North Kitsap neighbors.
Right on Bond Road (HWY 307), just before the new Clearwater Market as you’re heading toward Kingston, Vern’s Organic Topsoil has been in the family ever since. Now, the third generation of Vernon Martinson’s descendents, Tanner and Samantha, carry on the family business of providing landscaping materials and services to the community. With their own kiddos in the North Kitsap School District, Tanner and Samantha continue to exhibit the same care and commitment to our community as their parents and grandparents.
If you’re looking for some quality gardening soil, compost, landscaping bark, gravel and rock, as well as trucking services, check out their website and social media accounts (@vernsorganictopsoil) on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
