Dream It. Apply for It. Make It Happen.

Grant reminder: deadline September 19, 2025. Features handshake, lightbulb, puzzle pieces, and North Kitsap Schools Foundation logo.

Every school year starts with fresh energy and new ideas. Walking through North Kitsap schools in September, you can feel it: bulletin boards being decorated, supplies being unpacked, and staff talking about the projects and lessons that will make learning come alive.

That’s exactly what the North Kitsap Schools Foundation’s grant program is here for — to turn those ideas into reality.

What Can a Grant Do?

Over the years, Foundation grants have helped bring:

  • A mobile planetarium that transformed a gym into the night sky.

  • Salmon hatcheries that let students care for and release living creatures.

  • Robotics kits that turned curious hands into young engineers.

  • Flexible seating that gave students space to move, focus, and thrive.

  • Art and music projects that celebrated culture, creativity, and confidence.

These aren’t extras. They’re experiences that change how students see themselves and the world around them.

Who Can Apply?

Grants are open to any NKSD staff member with an idea that benefits students. Teachers, specialists, librarians, coaches, and more — if you have a vision that makes learning stronger, you can apply.

How It Works

The process is simple:

  1. Fill out the NKSF Grant Application and the NKSD Grant Approval Form.

  2. Meet with your principal to review and get their signature.

  3. If your idea involves technology, get it pre-approved with the Technology Request Form.

  4. Email your completed forms to nksfgrants@nkschools.org and grants@nkschoolsfoundation.org by the deadline.

Deadline: Friday, September 19, 2025

Why Apply?

Because your idea matters. You know what your students need, and the Foundation is here to help make it possible. Whether it’s $200 for new reading materials or $2,000 for a hands-on science kit, your project could be one of the many funded this year.

And thanks to SPARK — staff across the district giving through payroll deduction — every application represents the power of our team lifting each other up.

Let’s Make It Happen

Big things often start small. A simple idea, a short form, a little bit of funding — and suddenly, students are exploring space, releasing salmon, or discovering their own artistic voice.

So go ahead: dream it, apply for it, and make it happen. Together, we can spark the kinds of learning experiences students will remember for a lifetime.

Grant applications are due Friday, September 19.
