North Kitsap Schools Foundation Grants Program Changes

As we work to build longevity into our Grants Program, the NKSF Board of Trustees will be making some changes to the grant application and award policies and procedures. At the beginning of the 2025-2026 NK school year, the following updates to our grants program will go into effect. 

One Grant Application Cycle

There will be only one Grant Application Cycle for the 2025-2026 school year and until further notice. In an effort to provide better service to our grants program and ensure a more sustainable budget for years to come, we will only be offering one grant application cycle per school year going forward.

Grant Application Submissions Due: September 19, 2025

Educators in the NK School District interested in applying for NKSF grant funds for the 2025-2026 school year should start planning ahead and preparing. The application period will open in August, 2025.

Grants Program Policy Update

The NKSF Board of Trustees is currently reviewing and updating the Grants Program application and funding policies and procedures. Additional details will be published prior to the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year’s grant cycle, but a few of the changes that we’re preparing for are:

• Partial grant award funds and/or any remaining funds from a grant award can no longer be repurposed for any reason

• New limitations to transportation funding for field trips (NKSD Transportation requirements)

• Transportation and lodging expenses for professional development will not be funded

• Payroll related expenses will not be funded
