Bridging the Gap - Set it and Forget it: How SPARK Powers Our Schools

A payroll program for all North Kitsap School District employees—and one of the simplest ways to support students all year long.

Katie Lee and Stefan Keel stand smiling beside a "Spark" banner indoors. The banner has a blue and yellow star logo. Text below the Logo reads "Support. Partner. Advocate. Reach. Kindle. Helping teachers One Spark at a time.

“The best kind of support is the kind that shows up, even when life gets busy.” That’s what SPARK does for North Kitsap students. With one quick payroll setup, NKSD employees can make a steady, behind-the-scenes impact that helps fund classroom needs, student programs, and grants that turn great ideas into real experiences.

SPARK works because it’s consistent. Schools don’t only need support during big campaigns or special events—needs come up all year long. A set-it-and-forget-it gift provides reliable funding NKSF can count on, enabling us to respond faster and more confidently to opportunities educators bring forward that benefit students. And because SPARK giving is tax-deductible and has no associated fees, it’s an easy way to support students while also supporting your annual charitable giving.

So what does SPARK make possible?

Short answer: The things that often fall just outside a school’s day-to-day budget, but make a huge difference in a student’s experience.

SPARK helps fund classroom tools and supplies that bring lessons to life—books, art materials, science resources, and hands-on learning tools. It supports enrichment and student experiences, such as clubs, projects, and opportunities that help kids explore interests and build confidence. And it helps power the teacher-led ideas you see featured in Grants in Action—often when timing matters and a quick “yes” can make all the difference.

Joining is easy—and designed to stay easy:

  1. Fill out the SPARK payroll-deduction form. (Hit the button below!)

  2. Choose your giving amount per paycheck. (Even a few dollars make a difference.)

  3. Submit the form using the instructions provided (or to the contact below).

  4. Done. Your support shows up automatically, paycheck after paycheck.

Already a SPARK? Thank you!

If you’d like to increase your impact, consider bumping your gift by $5 per paycheck—small changes add up quickly when they're consistent.

SPARK is a simple way to show up for kids without adding another task to your life. Set it once, forget about it, and know you’re helping power the moments students will remember.
